Sample Food Chart Instructions

Sample Food Chart - Instructions

These are instructions copied from a very successful Iowa Heart Food Chart!  We will rotate the assignments so you will be assigned a different food for each tournament. Below is a list of foods for the girls (and leftovers for the parents) for the tournaments. The girls are counting on you to bring the assigned items to the tournaments – they get REALLY hungry. The things listed will keep the girls eating much healthier than the items they tend to buy at the concession stands. Please bring the food in coolers with ice. At some of the tournaments we are not allowed to bring food into the building. In those instances, we will leave the food in the cars and leave the building to eat.  We may designate one or two cars as the food stand.

*      Determine the number of girls on the team plus the coach or coaches.
*      After the girls make sandwiches and have lunch, there should be plenty of food for parents to have lunch.
*      A card table would be great to get the food up off the floor-those hallways can be quite dirty.
*     If there are allergies, please let us know.
*      If you will not be at a tournament and are scheduled to bring food, please exchange with someone else.  We’re all counting on you to make sure the assigned food arrives.
*     Questions? E-mail or call your team’s food coordinator.
*      Please bring the following when assigned:

Water/Granola Bara
2 Cases of water (48) - labeled with names (four per girl + our coach) plus granola bars.

A large container of cut-up fruit and napkins for 10 girls, 2 coaches, and families.
Whole apples tend not to get eaten; sliced apples tend to brown and not get eaten either.
